Catching a cable car in the Adrenaline Capital of NZ (i.e Queenstown)

We spent a day looking round Queenstown. It is a defiantly a holiday place with thousands of back packers and lots of other tourists. On closer assessment of the main street, the shops were all of the same time either fast food places, outdoor clothes retailers (get your genuine possum jumper here) or numerous places offering high octane activities (bungy, power boat, rafting etc). We decided against the above but did partake in the massive cable car (called the skyline) that leaves from the centre of the town and offers amazing views of the surrounding lakes and mountains. It also provided us with an opportunity to witness “ledge jumping” which was the same as a bungy jump but from a high ledge over looking the town. It was really funny to hear the peoples screams.
